Chesney earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Duke University where she continued as a clinician focusing on orthopedic and post-operative rehab. As a violinist of over 20 years and earning a minor in music during her undergraduate studies, she has a special interest in performing arts therapy alongside her traditional patients. She has worked with Neuro Tour taking their Backstage Injury and Prevention course and is also a member of the Performing Arts Medicine Association (PAMA). During her undergraduate studies at Duke, she was a Division I track and field athlete as well as specializing in the pole vault. With her music and sports background, she is passionate about helping others do the things they love without limitation, whether it is everyday activities, getting back on stage or participating in competitive sports. Making connections with her patients while also helping them achieve their goals is what she enjoys the most about physical therapy. Outside of work, Chesney enjoys running, weightlifting, and playing her violin with local artists, events, and ensembles.
