Whether your livelihood depends on your hands – as is the case for the professional athletes, musicians and executives – or your life is enhanced by reducing the pain in your upper extremities, you will appreciate the care given to you by our highly trained occupational therapists. Our therapists are trained in the treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, and many other diagnoses of the hands and arms. Our therapists are also trained to fabricate and fit casts or splints.
Balance & Dizziness
The vestibular system is part of the inner ear and is one of the three main systems used for balance. Problems with this system can lead to dizziness, vertigo, and imbalance. It may result from viral infections, head trauma, stroke, tumors, high doses of antibiotics, or due to age-related changes. Fortunately our vestibular therapists can get you feeling better and more “upright.” Through our vestibular and balance rehab programs, we can help get you back to your normal activities!
Pelvic Health & Pain
Our Pelvic Health Program is for individuals of all ages who suffer from pelvic pain and dysfunction stemming from the pelvic floor. Some of the diagnoses and symptoms we treat include urinary and bowel incontinence/urgency/frequency, constipation/incomplete voiding, pain during or after intercourse, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic/coccyx/lower back/SI joint pain, penile/testicular pain, and pudendal neuralgia. We also treat people before and after pelvic or abdominal surgery, as well as women during pregnancy and post-partum.
Treatments include, but are not limited to, soft tissue mobilization and myofascial release of the pelvic floor muscles and surrounding structures, abdominal massage, exercises for core and pelvic floor muscle coordination, and postural reeducation. Modalities such as biofeedback and electrical stimulation to the pelvic muscles are also available if deemed appropriate.
All our assessments and treatments are performed by physical therapists who are specially trained in internal and external management of the pelvic floor. If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, call and schedule an appointment today! If you have questions regarding treatments provided, or whether pelvic floor PT is appropriate for you, please call and speak with one of our specialists!
