Robert J. Nelson, M.S., P.T.

Please, call him "Bob."  After 20 years in academia and journalism, Bob graduated from Columbia's physical therapy school in 2003 and is pursuing the Certified Functional Manual Therapist designation from the Institute of Physical Art.  He uses manual therapy techniques but believes exercise is central to recovery of full function.

Bob comes to physical therapy from his avocations as a runner and triathlete, during which he sustained numerous injuries, both repetitive and traumatic, that were all eventually resolved through physical therapy treatment.  Bob continues to do triathlons, century bike rides and running races and at the moment is injury-free.
